Frequently Asked
Questions

How long are sessions?

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Couples therapy sessions are typically 60 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged when clinically appropriate and are prorated accordingly.

How often do we meet?

Therapy is often most effective when it takes place within a consistent weekly rhythm. Meeting weekly helps create continuity, deepen the work, and support meaningful change over time.

At times, some clients may benefit from meeting more than once a week, particularly during periods of emotional intensity, transition, or deeper therapeutic exploration.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

I currently offer therapy online only. All sessions are held virtually through a secure video platform.

What platform do you use for virtual sessions?

Sessions are held through a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform. You will receive a private session link before our meeting.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to better understand your coverage, reimbursement rates, and deductible.

What are your fees?

My current fees are:

  • Individual therapy: $250 per 50-minute session

  • Couples therapy: $300 per 60-minute session

Longer sessions are available and are prorated accordingly. Fees may increase periodically in alignment with inflation and rising practice costs.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

A limited number of sliding scale spaces may be available depending on current availability. Please feel free to inquire if this would be helpful for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, are charged the full session fee.

Is therapy confidential?

Your privacy is an essential part of therapy. Everything discussed in session is kept confidential within the limits of the law. Exceptions to confidentiality include situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult, or when records are court-ordered.

Where are you licensed?

I am licensed in the state of California and can provide therapy to clients who are physically located in California at the time of the session.

How do I get started?

You can reach out through my contact form or email to schedule an initial consultation. During this conversation, we can discuss what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether working together feels like a good fit.

What if I’m new to therapy?

Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or vulnerable, especially if this is your first experience. You do not need to know exactly what to say or where to begin. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we move at a pace that feels manageable and supportive for you.

Do you work with couples?

Yes. I work with couples who may be experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, life transitions, trust issues, or a desire to deepen their relationship and understanding of one another.

Do you work with children?

My background and training include early childhood development, attachment, and parent-child relationships. While I no longer work directly with very young children in ongoing therapy, this foundation continues to inform my work with adults, couples, and families.
